Both generations rusted heavily. A sight to behold. Though the early V6 vans pre DEF and SCR emissions were truly unstoppable . I’ve serviced several with 750,000 miles on original parts.

I have heard the transmission in the diesel ProMaster is beyond terrible so I’m not surprised.

Meanwhile, in my parallel universe, my 125k+ gas ProMaster had only it’s 2nd mechanical problem this past Friday when the bearing in the cooling fan decided to peace out. Didn’t leave me stranded or even miss any work time because my shop fixed it on Saturday. I’m sure it won’t be the last problem it’ll have, but it’s exceeded my expectations.
